A little info about this class...
Learn new skills, create something amazing and get creative!
Craft Club 4-9 is an opportunity for your child to enjoy making something amazing with clear step-by-step instructions balanced with a LOT of scope and time for developing their own artistic style and joy! Every 5/6 weeks we will be introducing a new fun project which will inspire your child to be creative and have a lot of fun while learning new skills along the way. Working on a project over a period of time and seeing the results of his/her efforts is great for self-esteem and learning that sticking with something can really be worth it! Children are welcome to join at any point in the course, as the class will be relaxed and we can explain what you have missed so that if you want to, you can work on the project outside of our weekly club.
A full list of resources for each project will be available in the Craft Club group after you have signed up. Resources will mostly be things you already have in your home. There may occasionally be the need to buy one or two things but they will not be expensive and we are big believers in finding creative solutions!
(This is not a stare-at-the-screen and listen to the teacher type of Zoom class! It is hands-on!)
PLEASE NOTE THAT AN ADULT IS NEEDED TO SUPPORT THE CHILD THROUGHOUT THE SESSION.
Craft Club 10+ is all about engaging your imagination and opening your eyes to the opportunities of the materials that surround you. We will inspire and encourage each other to develop our own artistic styles. While giving step-by-step instructions and guidance there will be lots of room to explore and develop your own ideas to get creative.
Projects will span several weeks for you to really explore your material and craft. Taking the time to complete projects will help you develop not only your artistic skills but also problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and divergent thinking, as well as give you that sense of pride and self-esteem. You are welcome to join at any point in the course, as the class will be relaxed and I can explain what you have missed so that if you want to, you can work on the project outside of the weekly club.
A list of resources will be available in the group prior to each project. Although we will be scouring our recycling, reusing the neglected and foraging for materials there will be some basic supplies you will need to buy, though you will most likely have these.
For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
