Emerging Writers
8 - 11 years old
A little info about this class...
Each session children are encouraged to think about and practise a specific writing skill, within the context of a fun group activity. Children are given sentence starters and time to focus on each idea so that they feel confident to share their ideas on paper. This session is relaxed and fun, with a strong emphasis on children gaining confidence and enjoying learning to write! We do not focus on spelling, grammar or handwriting because it is important that the child feels free to express their ideas (the important bit!) All children have the option to review their writing after the session and work on spelling, grammar or handwriting but they do not have to if they do not want to.

- 1 x weekly live interactive lesson (term time and half terms)
- Access to video link for 7 days after each lesson (not downloadable)
- Access to members area to share child’s work and get teacher feedback
- Optional additional learning activities, in between lessons
- Weekly worksheets to print and use in the lesson
- Independent learning activities during Christmas and Easter holidays
