Monday Morning Motivate

Free with Community Membership – start the week all together for some sharing, some motivation and of course the chance to have Happy Birthday sung to you and some cards sent, if your birthday is coming up!

STEAM

Develop your problem solving skills with fun activities based around real global issues. Enhance your thinking skills whilst completing fun practical challenges.

Mandarin Chinese Beginners +

Chinese is different, not difficult! On this course you will learn to speak, read and write Mandarin Chinese, starting from absolute beginners level for children who know a little Mandarin. We will explore tones and
pronunciation in fun, interactive sessions. Topics will include: counting, colours, food,
family and some basic conversation.

GCSE Sociology

There has never been a better time to study GCSE sociology. With the social impact of the events of the past year affecting all of us, sociologists are fascinated to explore the effects of what has been described as the ‘greatest social experiment of modern times’.

Creative Stitchers Club

Making fun with fabric, textiles, wool, felt etc! Learn new skills and create your own projects.

Exploring Science

Why is the sky blue? Why do giraffes have long necks? What happens in a nuclear reactor?

Explore the answers to these questions and many more through interactive and fun science lessons. This provides a foundation of knowledge to prepare learners for studying GCSE, all based around some of Science’s big questions and put into context of real world examples.

Discuss and share amazing books. Suitable for 12 – 16 year olds

Classics for 11 - 14 year olds

Explore the ancient world. learn some Ancient Greek and Latin and how they are still used today and become an archeologist!

IGCSE class – limited places!  Interactive GCSE class preparing for the Cambridge IGCSE exam.

Higher paper. 50 minutes with the teacher and approximately 1 hour of independent work.

Study for your IGCSE in English Language following the Cambridge exam board curriculum with a group of like-minded home-ed students.

Confidence in Maths

Maths for 12-15 year olds who are confident with primary level Maths and working towards GCSE level Maths.

Quantum Physics

Discover a new and hidden world that never fails to fascinate! The world of quantum physics delves deep into the atoms that make up everything and the forces that make everything work.

Confidence in Maths

Maths for ages 12 – 15. This class is suitable for children working at a Key Stage 3 level and a good supplement for those starting our GCSE Maths course.

Fun creative writing class suitable for budding authors and those that get nervous about writing.

Feel Good Club

Make friends and feel good! A focus on exploring mental wellbeing each week and  plenty of time to connect in small groups, make friends and pracitse social  skils. This is a very welcoming group.

Getting ready for post 16 life

Learn all those things that are never usually given the focus they need!
Includes units of work on:

How to succeed at exams -knowing your facts is not enough – this unit will help you to learn how to learn, improving mindset, planning a revision timetable, setting goals and learn a variety of differing examination techniques to overcome the common problems of procrastination and feeling overwhelmed as well as how to establish a routine.

STARTING IN SEPTEMBER
Enjoy a fun filled family tea with times tables challenges for everyone. Bring a picnic and practise some useful maths skills in a fun environment.

Public speaking, debate and drama club

Confidence building fun, games and the chance to practise using your voice in a supportive environment. Suitable for 7 – 12 year olds.

Around the World

In this exciting group we will be learning Geography like no other Geography class! Every four to six weeks, we will be visiting a new country for an action packed adventure in local traditions, traditional costume, real life, case studies of real life people, an exploration of animals and wildlife, food, song, theatre and much more!

Play the Ocarina

Fun for all ages, your child will delight in learning the ocarina! Known as one of the easiest instruments to play, you can start to pick up tunes straight away and feel a sense of achievement after just one lesson.

Interactive GCSE preparation class. Come along to discuss literature and gain confidence and skills in analysing text.

Becoming an Artist

This session is designed for those students who are keen to follow arts
into a possible career. We will learn skills and techniques in fine art printmaking, painting and sculpture. Over the course we will develop a portfolio of work that may support applications for future studies in Fine Art.

Animal Care Club

If you have a pet or a pet that you can borrow, this class is all about how to care for a pet. It will cover building a relationship with your pet, how to care for your pet, how to play with your pet, making toys and treats, writing about your pet, celebrating your pet’s birthday, exploring different breeds of different animals and how to cope when a pet dies.

IGCSE Spanish

¡Vamos! In this structured and supported course you will study IGCSE Spanish to help you develop your language skills for listening, reading and speaking. This Interactive course will also prepare you for your exams. As well as learning to know the culture and the people who speak it.

Understanding Me course

We will explore artists and how they use art for their own health and wellbeing. We will look at different topics and how the mind and body work, how our emotions are affected and how we can be aware of things that happen in our lives.

Harry Potter Club

Everything Harry Potter, from spells and potions to wand technique and magical creature care. Fun quizzes, discussions and crafts form the basis of this club.

FRIDAY

Friday 10am

Exploring Science

A fun Science class with lots of expermeints and hands-on science. This is great for 10 – 12 year old Science enthusiasts and for older children (12 – 14) who are preparing or just starting GCSE Science. Pre-GCSE Science skills in a fun way!

Friday 10AM

Pottery Club

Pottery club aimed at beginners. We will be using air dried clay to learn a variety of skills and techniques. We will use hand building techniques to create pots, plaques, animals and sculptures.

Friday 11AM

IGCSE Science

Double award, no coursework.  50 minute lesson each week (including experiments) and  approximately 1 hour of independent study each week.

Earth Warriors

If you are passionate about helping to save our planet – this is the club for you! Explore what is happening in the world, have fun upcycling, working in small groups and learning what you can do to make the world a better place. 

Friday 12PM

Herbology

Learn how to forage safely and enjoy a different foraging trip every week in preparation for making something amazing during the class! A great way to learn about plants and their amazing benefits.

Kitchen Sink Science

Amazing hands-on science! Weekly experiments using what you have at home.

Exploring Art

This class allows children to explore art with a hands-on and relaxed approach. It is suitable for all abilities of artist as each artist will be working at his or her own level on the skills and techniques that they will be exploring each week. There will be the chance to look at some  famous and not so famous artists and to draw and paint in the style of those artists as well as creating your own artistic creations!  Learn about colour, form, light and enjoy having a go!
