Would you love to play a new instrument? Join us at this fun class and learn to play the ocarina! This course is designed for children as an introduction to playing an instrument and reading music. The ocarina is a joy to play! Simple techniques and no squeaks! It uses a simple blowing method and holes are covered with fingers to produce different notes. Each note is easy to play and remember through our step-by-step approach. In no time you will be able to play a wide variety of tunes! This course is also an introduction to reading written music. Knowledge and skills learnt during this course are transferable and can support, inspire and lead to playing other more complex wind, string instruments and piano in the future.
This class uses a 6 hole Plastic ocarina.
For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this, please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
