Different options of study with LLP

All of our GCSE/ IGCSE / Functional Skills courses are covered over either 1 year (12 months) or 2 years (24 months). You also have the option to stay on longer to repeat topics and consolidate skills if needed. The table outlines the different options of study with us. Each course includes 1 live lesson a week over 42 weeks of each year and has expectations of between 30-90 minutes of additional work that will be done outside of the lesson (although this is optional). You can find a link to download the specification for your course on your member's page too.

Please be aware that all our GCSE, IGCSE & Functional Skills courses offer a rolling curriculum and cater for children with a wide range of abilities, previous knowledge/study and willingness to work independently. Although we cover the curriculum in the period stated, it is the parent's responsibility to ensure that your child has covered and understood the entire syllabus, taken notes and has carried out exam practice before they sit their exam. Our teacher will give short exam practice throughout the course and teach the children how to answer the questions, but it is a good idea for your child to sit practice exam papers in the run-up to their actual exam. Our teachers are always happy to help and advise but please make sure you know what your child has studied and areas that need more work before they are ready to sit the exam. Generally speaking, our recommendation is to start around April /May for May/June exams or September / October for November exams.

To enable your child to sit their GCSE/IGCSE/Functional Skills exam, you need to find a local exam centre that takes external candidates for the appropriate exam board and arrange for your child to take their exams at the centre. Some state and private schools may allow home-educated children to take exams with them. Commercial exam centres which specialise in private candidates are another option. Functional Skills qualifications also have the option to take the exam online from home and you would need to find an exam centre that offers this option.
