Classical Civilisation GCSE (OCR)

13 - 16 years old

A little info about this class...

This course will cover the full OCR Classical Civilisation course across two years, equipping students with the necessary skills to enjoy and excel at Classics. In these sessions, we will cover a range of topics from the Ancient Greek and Roman world, as well as learning to analyse literature and pieces of archaeology to gain insights into civilisations from the distant past. As with all of my classes, we will focus on the fascinating stories of individuals who came before us, to help the students compare and contrast their own life experiences with the men and women of the ancient world.

Topics will include:

Ancient Greek myth and religion – gods, goddesses, sacrifices, temples.

Life in a Roman city – house architecture, leisure activities, social structure.

Here's what we offer...

  • 1 x weekly live interactive lesson (term time and half terms)
  • Access to video link for 7 days after each lesson (not downloadable)
  • Access to members area to share child’s work and get teacher feedback
  • Optional additional learning activities, in between lessons
  • Weekly worksheets to print and use in the lesson
  • Independent learning activities during Christmas and Easter holidays
