Statistics is a huge part of everyday life, careers, and further study. This course will enable you to acquire transferable skills to support you in progressing beyond GCSE in a range of subjects. An understanding of data in the real world and how it can be used (or misused) can empower you and is relevant to everyone.
The Statistics GCSE offers students the opportunity to study real-life statistical data, gain skills in data analysis and presentation. This 1-year course is suitable for confident mathematicians and students with an interest in studying statistically heavy A-levels (such as geography, law, economics, government and politics etc) or as a progression to A-level mathematics.
The GCSE statistics course has 2 calculator papers and students are provided with a formula sheet.

Unlike all our other courses, the price for GCSE is £5.00 +VAT a week per student to reflect the amount of work the teacher will need to do to successfully guide you through your GCSE. You will be expected to do 1 – 2 hours of independent work each week.
For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
Due to some of its themes and content of this course, the age for this class is 14 – 16. If your child is younger than 14 but you would like them to study this course, please make sure that you are aware of the content and either watch the recordings before your child watches them or watch the lessons with your child to ensure that you are happy with the content and can talk it through with your child.
