A little info about this class...
English language underpins all your other subjects; knowledge of how to evaluate, analyse and critique texts is important in all subjects.
In this course, you will learn how to assess fiction and non-fiction texts from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries and investigate language, structure and form. You will also develop your skills in creative, descriptive and transactional writing. GCSE English language AQA 8700 is taught over 2 years.
For this course you will need to complete a speaking and listening assessment prior to taking your written GCSE paper. This will be in the form of a speech, which you will prepare in class. This assessment can be completed at a Tutors and Exams centre or you may find a centre need you that will also offer this.
Unlike all our other courses, the price for GCSE is £5.00 +VAT a week per student to reflect the amount of work the teacher will need to do to successfully guide you through your GCSE. All marking and feedback are included in the price. You will be expected to do 1 – 2 hours of independent work each week.
For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
