A little info about this class...
Recognised graded Speech and Drama exams with LAMDA are a wonderful way to develop confidence, communication and performance skills, be that Acting or Speaking in Public. Oracy skills are essential throughout life far beyond an exam; they will be drawn upon in interviews, teaching, training others or sharing and presenting ideas coherently in a team.
LAMDA Exams are a great way to enable your child to develop confidence and oral fluency or to improve acting technique depending on the path they take – Communication or Performance. Students will be introduced to skills and techniques in class, learning how to effectively use their voices or structure a speech / build a character and can then apply those skills to their individual piece. Recordings can them be sent in for feedback.
At Learn Laugh Play we will cover over the whole year the 6 areas your child can specialise in for a graded exam with LAMDA (which can be remote or in person at a local public centre to you). Each term we will have a Communication and a Performance theme see below:

Many home-educating families opt for LAMDA Exams as an alternative to GCSE exams. The course will run for one year, but your child can take the exam at several different points throughout the year whenever they are ready. Your child can join at any time, as with our other courses we run a rolling curriculum.
You can find out more about LAMDA Qualifications HERE.
Of course, there is absolutely no expectation that you take an official examination, you may just enjoy developing the skills through the lessons and that’s fantastic too!
For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this, please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
