A new exciting book club aimed at children aged 7-9 years old. This fun and creative class is perfect for children who are starting to become a little more confident at reading – moving on from picture books and starting to read first chapter books. However, younger/older children who are reading at this level are most welcome.
Each week we will read and discuss a different chapter and there will be many creative activities to do during the class and afterwards too. We will use our
Imaginations and also grow our imaginations by immersing ourselves with different characters, settings and stories. With the emphasis being on making reading FUN!
This is a very interactive class where children can share their ideas and thoughts about the book. However, reading aloud, drama tasks and sharing ideas during the session are completely optional and children are welcome to join in as little or as much as they feel comfortable.
Each book will last around 10 sessions and children will normally be asked to read a chapter between lessons.
The current book is Enchanted Wood – Book 1 – The Magic Faraway Tree. The Next book is The Boy Who Grew Dragons by Andy Shepherd starting on April 17th.
